Google announced a few days back that Documents in Google Docs that are published to web may show up in search results.
Naturally this announcement caught many people off guard and caused them to worry if their documents would show up on the web.
Because you have to explicitly publish a document to the web, I'd venture to guess that most people's documents are safe.
Ghacks has a good article that shows you how to tell if a document is published or not.
What is more of note is that Google needs to rethink how they disseminate information to their user base. As the administrator of an Apps Account I received an email about the change. Others found out by finding a post by a Google employee.
As Google increases their user base and focuses on corporate customers they need to cater more to the needs of IT departments that will want time to inform and help users prepare for the change.
